Implementing and Managing Learning
I believe that implementing and managing learning is for the teacher to provide clear and effective instructions and to be able to manage the student's behavior and to manage the transition between the activities in a smooth way. it’s important for teachers as they have to manage the student behavior and the transition to be able to have an effective lesson.
During this teaching practice, I implemented many activities to match the students’ different abilities and learning styles. I made sure that most of the activities involved the four important skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) of the English language. Moreover, to have an effective lesson I integrated the technology in the activities and the lesson. Using the technology helped me to have a lesson that included the VAK learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic). Also, I used presentation tools that will engage and motivate the students to learn and focus more on the lessons.

I used the jumbled words to set a challenge between the groups as they got involved and interested. Also, I had used this activity as a formative assessment to check if the students were able to recognize the key vocabulary of the lessons.

In this speaking activity, I included the microphone in the speaking activity. During the activity, the students got more engaged and motivated to speak using the microphone as it created a challenge between the students.

This is a sample of the students work during the Voki listening activity.

This is a sample of using Emaze in my lessons. I think that it was a good experience as I used a different presentation tool for the students as it a 3D presentation and I taught all the lesson phases using this tool.

In my lesson plans, I listed the strategies that I would use to have an effective learning environment and to manage the transition smoothly. Using these strategies supported me to have good classroom management and to be able to control the students behavior by talking and dealing with the students in a friendly yet a strict way. Also, I integrated the technology into my lessons to grab the students attention and engage them in the lesson.

Improving Comprehension with Think-Aloud Strategies

This book discuss about the good strategies that a teacher can use to scaffold students reading skills. and how a teacher can improve and develop strategies to support students learning. It gives the teacher a good and deep understanding of the reading process and how to engage the reader we teach. Also, the book explains ways that teacher can use to make the students enthusiastic and motivated about reading. one of the strategies that I benefited from during the teaching practice is to engage students reading skills through collaborative activities. Additionally, the book linked some of the strategies to Vygotsky ZPD (zone of proximal development) theory to help the teachers in understanding the importance each strategy in the book.
