Reflecation on the lesson
Monday: 13/ February/ 2017
Today I had a lesson about the use of going to + verb. I started the lesson revising the previous lesson; then I told the students to stand in two lines and face their partner to speak to do the speaking activity which is what they will take when they go camping. After this, I had explained the use of going to, and how to use it with a verb in the sentence, I let them write a sentence using going to + verb. After the lesson, I had discussed with my MCT about the things that we went well and the things that we can improve. One of the things that that I can improve is how to do the speaking activity in which I had told the students to change their partner after some second, my MCT told me that it would be better to let them have the same partner to speak with for the whole 5 minutes which will provide them a better chance to able to speak English. Which I will consider doing in the next lesson. Moreover, my MCT told me to think more about the timing of the lesson and the lesson phases as now we have only 40 minutes for the period. Also, about focusing on the students’ pronunciation of the words and to give the students read more in the lesson. all of this I will be considering them in my lesson planning.

Reflecation on the lesson

Today I had a lesson about the interviews and the adjectives of personality. During the lesson, the students had a speaking activity in which they would talk with each other about their personality using the new adjectives they had learned, after that they had to listen to an interview between a student and a teacher and then that had to do some questions related to it. Moreover, during this lesson, I had used flashcards, and Emaze presentation to teach the lesson. During the lesson, I noticed that some phases took more time than other, which result in giving less time to other phases and because the period is only 40 minutes it had affected the last phase of the lesson. after the lesson, my MCT gave some comments and suggestions about my lesson, one of them is that to make the students mark each other work and to give more chance to other students to participate in the class. Also, to give each phase that its need to complete it. Overall, she said that my lesson was an effective lesson and that I had shown her that I am working in developing my teaching and planning of the lessons.
